MLS Rumor Mill: Chicago Fire Interested In Albert Luque?

Once short on attackers before making a couple of value signings, the Chicago Fire could still use some serious help up top. Enter La Liga veteran Albert Luque, who is rumored to be a target of the Fire. Luque has also spent time at Newcastle and Ajax, and his biggest successes in football came with Deportivo La Coruña.

As far as rumors go, this one checks out as potentially credible. The Fire could definitely use a player like Luque who can play up top and as an attacking winger. His contract was terminated by Malaga, so he should be able to sign with Chicago immediately. He has the pedigree to be a player who can contribute to a team in MLS, but it seems unlikely that he would demand an outrageous salary.

This is definitely one to keep an eye on, because it seems like a rumor that makes a lot of sense. There’s not a lot of info yet from credible American sources, and we’ll update this space if that information becomes available.
