Sporting Kansas City And Real Salt Lake Brawl, Both Teams Tell You To Pay No Attention To The Man Behind The Curtain

So, there was a brawl last night at the end of a friendly match between Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake. It was obviously more of a brawl than a disagreement or a scuffle, since the match was abandoned. Of course, if you stick to the teams themselves for your news and you don’t go looking for outside sources, you would have no idea. Neither the Sporks or RSL mentioned the brawl in their match reports for their own websites. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Fortunately for us, we got to find out about the brawl thanks to some awesome folks who are out there fighting the good fight in the world of journalism. Michael C. Lewis of the Salt Lake Tribune (one of the best MLS reporters out there) alerted the world to the story, as did the folks at the Kansas City Star’s “The Full 90” blog. So, yes. The two teams did have a fight. The exact details are gray, but the teams had a fight. They don’t want you to know this. Why, I’m not really sure. It seems like it would have been information worthy of putting in their match reports, though.
