New England Revolution’s Ousmane Dabo Set To Miss Vancouver Whitecaps Clash

After making an impressive debut in last weekend’s scoreless draw with the Colorado Rapids, New England Revolution Midfielder Ousmane Dabo will miss the team’s next match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Dabo strained his right adductor during New England’s training session Tuesday morning.

Although the Revs remain confident that Dabo will recover quickly from the injury, it does represent a big setback for the former Lazio and Manchester City midfielder. The 34 year-old Frenchman missed the early part of the season while recovering from a quadricep injury sustained during the preseason.

New England fans had to be looking forward to seeing Dabo in midfield again. In his debut against Colorado he looked assured in possession and was spraying passes all over the field. Dabo’s presence took some of the pressure off of Shalrie Joseph and the recently acquired Benny Feilhaber.

There is not yet a timetable for Dabo’s return, but New England will be hoping he returns to full match fitness to boost the team in their chase to get back into the MLS playoffs.
